Jesus is the living expression of the forgiving, unconditional love and mercy of God.
“Jesus entrusted the ministry of reconciliation to the Church. The Sacrament of Penance is God’s gift to us so that any sin committed after Baptism can be forgiven. In confession we have the opportunity to repent and recover the grace of friendship with God. It is a holy moment in which we place ourselves in his presence and honestly acknowledge our sins, especially our mortal sins.” (United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, Chapter 18)
This Sacrament reconciles us with God and also with the Church, for sin also harms our relationships with others and sometimes even our union with the Church. This beautiful and powerful Sacrament enables us to humbly express our ongoing conversion, our ongoing change of heart and mind, and experience the Lord’s healing grace.
Reconciliation is offered by appointment or on Saturdays, 4:15-4:45pm in the church. Please call the parish office at 847-362-1005.
